Still Media: Adobe Spark

*Note: In the video I mentioned that comments could be added to the pages, I was wrong and simply mixed it up with a different program - sorry!

  1. Elaina - I think this is the coolest program I have seen so far! I loved learning about Adobe Spark. I've never even heard of this program and the format was cool! I think I might actually use this tool after seeing all of the fun things that you can do with it. It seems simple, user friendly, and it looks really professional. Thanks for this post!

  2. Elaina, thanks for showing us Adobe Spark! I have heard a lot about it, but have not gotten the chance to use it yet, so I really appreciate the overview. I definitely understand the hype, it seems like a really great tool, especially considering it's all free.

I can so easily see this being used in a classroom, for students to blog, or do story telling/narrative building exercised, or even for non-fiction reports, like the wolves example you included. It's like you said, it just makes things a little more interesting. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Hi Elaina!
I thought your screencast was very informative and inspired me to want to make an adobe spark account. I think a strength of the screencast was the fact that you showed us samples and even went over different examples. I think this really brought into perspective what this program has to offer and the capabilities of the program. I really liked seeing the education page and seeing that one person used this program to represent their resume. This is a great alternative to just a standard simplistic resume format. I think you really took the time throughout your post to make it known what the important features were of this program and how to go about navigating its functions. I liked that you not only walked through how to create a page but you also went through how to create a post. You really presented the material very thoroughly and I knew exactly how to operate the website when creating my own account. I could see this being very useful for various projects in the classroom and even for creating my own teaching portfolio. It is always great to come across free programs like this because I find that they will be much more useful to me than a program I would have to pay monthly for in fear that I might not use it as much as I was intending. I think by allowing students to create their own Adobe Spark pages and allowing them to present their different projects for their classmates to view and comment on would be a great way to implement a class discussion or even if I were to create a classroom page and presenting important information on this site via pictures or even highlighting the students of the month would be a great technology implementation into the classroom community. Overall, great post and I really look forward to using Adobe Spark and referring to your video along the way for guidance.

  4. Elaina,

Thanks for the share about Adode Spark...I had heard of it too but had never used it or checked it out and your screencast inspired me to. I love what capabilities it has on a FREE program which is why I loved the one I chose for my still media too (Canva). Canva and Adode Spark have a lot in common as far as what they can do...if you haven't checked it out ...I strongly recommend. I like that they both are compatible with Google and sharing/collaborative capability. I do however love that Adobe Spark has a component for animated videos. Your screencast was very informative and concise. I had a VERY hard time keeping my cast concise, yet I don't think I was rambling. I definitely have to improve on my screecasting style and possibly coming up with a more strict script to follow so it floes quickly and concise.

  5. Hi Elaina,

Great video! I also critiqued Adobe Spark and am glad to hear that you are also a fan of it! I love that it is so easy to use and the possibilities are endless. There are so many templates that one can use it is truly worth taking the time to understand. Educators can really benefit from Adobe Spark and should become competent in the program to be able to teach students who can make various projects on Spark.
